To mark the inauguration of the New Valley Private University, Professor Abdel Aziz Tantawi, President of New Valley University, received today, Sunday, November 10, 2024, the committee formed by the Supreme Council of Private Universities, headed by Professor Maher Abdel Fattah Mesbah, Secretary General of Private Universities. The delegation included Professor Ibrahim El-Dessouki Hilal Mahmoud Hilal, a professor at the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering and former President of Suez University. The delegation included Professor Hussein Ahmed Farid Gamal El-Din, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. The delegation reviewed the financial capabilities and inspected the building designated for the inauguration of New Valley Private University at the university's headquarters at kilometer 10. The ceremony was attended by Professor Ahmed Harbawi, Advisor to the President of the University for Institutional Development, Professor Mustafa Mahmoud, Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, the deans, and members of the committee responsible for establishing New Valley Private University. Professor Abdel Aziz Tantawi, President of New Valley University, welcomed the Secretary General of Private Universities and his accompanying delegation, expressing his pleasure at the committee's presence to review the university's readiness to establish the first private university in the New Valley. The university president stated that the establishment of New Valley Private University is in line with Egypt's Vision 2030, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and within the framework of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and the support of Professor Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Major General Dr. Mohamed Salman El-Zamlout, Governor of New Valley, to provide integrated educational services to the governorate's residents. He explained that New Valley University, through the establishment of a private university, seeks to become a leader among universities by producing advanced educational programs that meet the needs of society and attract students from both inside and outside Egypt. It also hopes to provide distinguished scientific and research services that contribute to the graduation of competent and experienced youth, knowledge-based, scientific, and professional, who can play an effective role in developing society and achieving its sustainable goals. During the meeting, Professor Hani Madkour, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at New Valley University, reviewed the establishment of New Valley University, starting with a review of the history of New Valley University, the stages of establishing its faculties, the university's international rankings, its human resources, and its financial capabilities. He then presented the proposed strategic plan for New Valley University, providing a detailed explanation of the plan, starting with the building designated for the private university, the university's vision and objectives, the internal regulations, the proposed university faculties during the first and second phases, the systems, methods, and curricula of study, the financial capabilities and available human resources, and the university's resource development plan. Tantawi pointed out that the establishment of a private university in the New Valley aims primarily to meet the growing demand for university education without imposing new burdens on the state budget. He also aims to prepare specialized cadres in the fields of medicine, engineering, pharmacy, nursing, desert agriculture sciences, physical therapy, and artificial intelligence. This will contribute to human development by creating new job opportunities for various segments of society, while also contributing to the conduct of applied scientific research. The committee, formed by the Supreme Council of Private Universities, conducted an inspection tour of the university's campus at Kilometre 10 to assess its physical and human resources. The building, which covers an area of 5,600 square meters, consists of a ground floor and three upper floors. It includes classrooms of varying sizes, in addition to laboratories, faculty rooms, and administrative and service rooms. The committee also inspected the buildings being constructed at the university's new campus at Kilometre 10. Professor Maher Mesbah, Secretary General of Private Universities, thanked the university president and his supporting team for the warm welcome, praising the material and human resources he saw at New Valley University, including distinguished construction projects, advanced research laboratories, and classrooms equipped with the latest educational media that serve the university's educational process.
